The Saloom Story: American Design & Craftsmanship

In 1982, Peter and Linda Saloom created Saloom Furniture Company based on a passion for design and a desire to make furniture that was stylish, comfortable and functional. Peter designed and made the furniture in his father’s basement in Newburyport, Massachusetts, with a Sears radial arm saw. A lot has changed since those early years. Saloom Furniture went on to be named one of Inc. 500 magazine’s 500 fastest growing privately owned companies for 3 years in a row in the early 90s. Thepeterandlindasaloom company now has two factories with 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space in north central Massachusetts, and is the largest employer in the town of Winchendon, Massachusetts.

American made furniture is rare. We’re especially fortunate to live and work in New England, which has a rich furniture manufacturing history. Saloom Furniture is proud to preserve the best quality values from the past, while applying new ideas in design. We’re still excited every time we bring a new product or fresh idea to the furniture market, and in the process have earned a reputation as style leaders in our industry, with award-winning design. Most importantly, all of furniture is handcrafted by our New England artisans, who take pride in their work and build it to last.

“Our mission is to make great furniture, create quality jobs, and be a positive influence in the community."
