WINCHENDON, Mass., June 28, 2010 - Saloom Furniture Company, a leading manufacturer of American-made dining room furniture, has enhanced its presence on popular social networks to better reach current and potential customers.
The company is now active on Twitter and Facebook, which have more than 500 million users combined worldwide. Saloom has recently stepped up its online marketing efforts by having its website redesigned and launching a new one last month for its new contemporary furniture line, Peter Francis.
"Incorporating social media into our marketing mix is an extension of our focus on getting our message in front of the end consumer," Becki Gould, Saloom's marketing director, said. "We recognize that technology has changed the way people shop for furniture and you have to go where the consumers are."
She said it's one more way for Saloom to get the word out about its modern, transitional and country dining room furniture, which is distributed throughout the United States and parts of Canada. The vast majority of consumers turn to the Internet when they're considering making a purchase.
"These sites are very popular as a source of information when someone is doing research on the Internet before their purchase," Gould said. "We want them to know everything about Saloom Furniture and what makes us different, and Facebook and Twitter provide a great forum for this information."
