Granite
is made by nature...
Formed by volcanic activity billions of
years ago. The stone is a tough crystallized matrix rich in
quartz and feldspar, with eye-catching sprinklings of vivid trace
materials that animate and differentiate each granite color. Because
granite has inherent variations of color and texture each piece is as
singular as a snowflake. Fissures, pitting, and veining are not
defects, but are part of the unique characteristics and beauty of the
stone.
Durability
Granite is the densest of natural stones; in
fact the only types of stones harder than granite are gems such as
diamonds or rubies.
Good wood with a Super Finish
We use only the highest grades of
wood with our Stone tables, and we coat that wood with a clear varnish
topcoat – our Saloom Super Finish – which protects that wood from
moisture and most household chemicals. For the most part we
employ maple in our designs, a wood renown for its strength, hardness
and fine, uniform texture.
