Flawless beauty, stronger than
stone
Porcelain combines the
beauty of stone with the practical advantages of ceramic tile. Made by
pressing clay and ground rock into tiles, Porcelain has the natural
elegance found in stone, as well as its strength - in fact, it is
actually even stronger than stone! And what makes Porcelain a
truly amazing product is the fact that it is as care-free as ceramic
tile - it is impervious to stains, needs no sealers or polishes, and
is extremely resistant to scratches.
Durable
Our Porcelain tables
are exceptionally tough and durable. The Porcelain tiles themselves
are flooring grade, and are extremely resistant to heat and scratches
and impervious to stains. The grout that we use around the Porcelain
tiles is a rubber silicone sealant that is stain resistant, flexible
and easy to clean.
Innovative patterns
The innate strength of Porcelain affords us the ability to design
creative and stylish patterns. We offer two Porcelain specific
patterns: the Garden Path and River Stone. We also offer patterns
that combine full Porcelain tiles with ceramic Accent tiles. Please
refer to the Porcelain
Samples and Patterns page for information on available patterns
and combinations. Please note that an up charge in price will
apply when using any of these patterns - please see the price lists
for amounts.

-
SUPER
FINISH: Every
inch of our wood tables (including the underside and base) receives
a coating of our Saloom Super Finish. This clear catalyzed varnish
protects your furniture from moisture and most household chemicals
such as turpentine, nail polish remover, and lemon juice. However
all finishes can scratch and dent, therefore when in use, we advise
using placemats or other protection between dishes and table top.
-
SELF
STORING LEAFS: Most of our oval, rectangular, and boat shaped
maple top tables will self store one leaf underneath the table top.
Please see price lists for exceptions.
-

CARE INFORMATION
- There is no need to use sealers on the
Porcelain tiles, nor will you need any waxes or polishes on the wood
edge of the table. Just wipe the table with a damp sponge,
with some mild dish soap if needed, and wipe it dry.
- Never use abrasive cleaners or sponges on the wood. And never
let candle wax drip on the table – it is a pain to clean off the
Porcelain and grout, and it will discolor the wood finish.
- Be careful with hot pans – the Porcelain tiles and grout will
hold up well to heat, but the wood edge can be damaged. Use
trivets just to be safe.
