CORIAN® Tables - Product Information

CORIAN®
CORIAN is a unique solid surface material known for its durability and versatility in both residential and commercial environments. It is an advanced blend of natural minerals and pure acrylic polymer, with color and pattern running throughout the material. It is stain resistant, non-porous, durable, hygienic, and most importantly it’s easy to maintain and repair. CORIAN is the solid surface of choice in most of today’s new and remodeled homes.

A surface for busy lives
CORIAN has a compelling combination of beauty and strength, but what makes it a truly noteworthy ingredient for tables may be its ease of use. It is tough and will stand up to the rigors of family life. It is non-porous, so spills are easily wiped away and mold and mildew have nowhere to live. It has no grout lines or edges where dirt can hide. And it is warm and inviting to the touch.

Renewable
CORIAN is pretty tough stuff, and while it won’t stain or lose its color, CORIAN can be scratched or marred if subject to enough stress. If this happens, you usually can use a combination of abrasive cleaners and a scrubby sponge to restore the surface to its original condition; because the color and pattern run throughout the material, taking some off the top is not a problem! You won’t find this type of insurance on many other types of table tops.

CORIAN colors
CORIAN is offered in a wide palette of colors - you can choose from most of these colors to create your CORIAN dining table.  Please keep in mind that dark or saturated CORIAN colors will show dirt, dust, and ordinary wear more readily than light colors and textures.  Therefore these colors require more care to maintain their apperance.

quality features

  • SUPER FINISH: Every inch of our wood tables (including the underside and base) receives a coating of our Saloom Super Finish. This clear catalyzed varnish protects your furniture from moisture and most household chemicals such as turpentine, nail polish remover, and lemon juice. However all finishes can scratch and dent, therefore when in use, we advise using placemats or other protection between dishes and table top.

  • SELF STORING LEAFS: Most of our oval, rectangular, and boat shaped maple top tables will self store one leaf underneath the table top. Please see price lists for exceptions.

  • QUALITY SLIDES that won't stick on leg tables, and double-geared slides on pedestal tables.

  • LEAF GAP COVERS on aprons.

  • BRASS LEAF PINS for leaf alignment

CARE INFORMATION

  • Easy care is the norm with CORIAN!  A damp sponge can be used to wipe up the table everyday; soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners will remove most dirt and messes.  Stubborn surface stains can be removed with an abrasive cleanser and a green Scotch Brite® pad.

  • To prevent heat damage, always use a hot pad or trivet with rubber feet to protect the surface.

  • Avoid exposing CORIAN to strong chemicals like paint removers or oven cleaners.

  • Every table comes with a CORIAN Care Kit that will explain the steps that will help you keep your table looking as good in 15 years as it does the day you receive it.  You can also check out this link to the CORIAN website for tips and care instructions.

GENERAL ORDERING INFORMATION

  • There is an up charge for using Premium or Layered paint finishes.  Please see your Saloom dealer for up charge information.
  • All of our CORIAN tables are produced with a matte finish.
  • Be aware that some CORIAN colors have large or varied patterns, so printed representations or small CORIAN color samples may not exactly match the table.
  • Any dark CORIAN color will show dirt, dust and ordinary wear more readily than light colors and textures.  Therefore these colors require more care to maintain their appearance.
  • Variations in wood coloring and grain patterns are a characteristic of solid wood, therefore your table may not exactly match the finish sample.
  • Due to the custom craftsmanship of Saloom Furniture products, changes or cancellations of orders cannot be accepted once production has begun.
