CHAIRS - Product Information

Materials
All dining chairs are made using the highest grade Maple, Cherry, and other quality hardwoods.

Quality construction
All Saloom chairs are made with attention to detail using the finest construction techniques - box frame construction with corner block reinforcements and mortise and tenon joints.

Soflex seats
All of our upholstered seat dining chairs have a unique seat construction feature called the Solfex seat.  Most chair seats you find today are made with plywood and single layer of foam.  Our Soflex seat starts with a strong layer of suspension webbing, followed by three layers of foam.  This combination of webbing and foam creates a seat that will not "bottom out", and will stay soft and comfortable for years to come.

Fabric Choices
(note: we currently do not have our fabric samples available to view on line - to view the fabrics please visit one of our dealers)
Choosing fabric is a great way to add a personal touch to your dining set. At Saloom we offer 3 levels of fabric choices:

Standard Fabrics: This is our core group of fabrics, sampled to all of our dealers.
These fabrics were chosen to give you a broad selection of quality fabrics
that coordinate with our finishes and styles.

Premium Fabric Program: This is a collection of 100+ upscale, style-driven
fabrics from Robert Allen, a leading supplier of cut yardage fabrics.
Any dealer can order these fabrics, but they may not be sampled at every dealer.
 These premium fabrics are up charge items;
up charge amounts are listed on the Chairs Price Lists.

Customer’s Own Material/COM: We also offer the option of using your own
fabric choice. This gives you the flexibility to choose from the tens of thousands
of fabrics that are in the marketplace today. See the
COM Ordering Information section for guidelines and restrictions.

COM ORDERING INFORMATION

  • Customers can provide their own fabric for upholstered chairs. There is an upcharge for using COM - see our Price List for details. Orders will not be entered into production until the COM has been received at the factory, so please add an appropriate amount of time to the projected delivery date. Please provide a diagram with clear instructions for specifying the pattern layout on the chair.

  • The following formula should be used to calculate yardage needed {based on a standard 54" wide fabric}:
Chair / barstool style #: Yardage required per chair*:
    11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 39, 44, 48, 49, 56, 58, 72, 73, 74, 75, 818, 827, 90, 3/4 yard = 2 seats
    16, 85, 89, 900 3/4 yard = 1 chair
    38, 57, 88 1 yard = 1 chair
    26 1 1/4 yards = 1 chair
    81, 857 1 1/2 yards = 1 chair
    46, 66 2 yards = 1 chair

(*Any excess yardage will be returned.  COM fabrics with a large repeat or pattern require 1/4 yard more fabric per chair.)

  • We cannot accept COM vinyl, leather or laminated fabrics for any of our chairs with upholstered backs, including tilt-swivel and Parsons chairs.

  • While we generally do not have problems with COM fabrics supplied to us, we do reserve the right to reject COM fabrics due to quality or compatibility issues.

  • Mail COM order to:
    Saloom Furniture Company, Inc.
    Attn: Customer Service
    256 Murdock Avenue
    Winchendon, MA 01475

Please label your COM shipment with your Store Name, Purchase Order Number and Customer Tag Name.
