The Saloom Story

The dining table is the heart of your home - it's where you share meals with your family, where your kids play and do homework, where you hold family discussions, and entertain friends and family. Something so central to your home should be well designed, and built to last.

In 1982, Peter and I created Saloom Furniture Company based on a passion for designing unique customized dining furniture that was stylish, comfortable and functional. Peter started making the furniture in his father's basement with a Sears radial arm. A lot has changed since those early years. Saloom Furniture went on to be named one of "Inc. 500" magazine's 500 fastest growing privately owned companies for 3 years in a row in the early 90's. The company now has 2 factories with 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space in north central Massachusetts.

One thing that hasn't changed over the years is our company's unique combination of old fashioned American ingenuity combined with a drive for design and innovation. We're still excited every time we bring a new product or fresh idea to the furniture market, and in the process have earned a reputation as style leaders in our industry, with award winning design. Our most recent innovation was the introduction of our multi-step antique and distressed "Heritage" finishes. These pieces feature a hand crafted aged look with worn edges, worm holes, dry brushing and flyspeck, but with modern day top coat finish techniques - to give you the best of both worlds: an authentic aged look, offering modern day durability and performance.
